Creating Jobs and Work Orders
Updated by Austin Beveridge
This article reviews how to create Jobs and Work Orders in the Job Scheduler
In order management, make sure the sale is in released status.
Creating a Job
- From the left menu, navigate to Order Management -> Sales -> and find the sale to create a job.
- Change its status to Released.
- From the left menu, navigate to Production -> Job Scheduler.
- Inside Job Scheduler, select the drop-down arrow next to Jobs
- Select a Sale to create a Job with.
- A slideout window will appear with options for the Job.
- Select the Labor Routing for each item in the list. If the company has a default Labor Routing for this item, Labor Routing can be left blank.
- After clicking "OK", another slideout window will appear notifying that a Work Order(s) were created for the Job. Take note of the Job Order number for future reference!
Schedule the Work Order with the Gantt Chart
- Navigate to Production -> Job Scheduler, select the Work Orders List dropdown menu, and switch to Work Orders Gantt: In Date Range.
- Adjust the date range using the calendar and Gantt controls
- Click on a work order to set the date information.
- This will open the "Reset Dates Tool" where the Start Date, Time, Operation, etc. can be adjusted. Click OK when finished.
Adjusting the Date Range
To adjust the date range, use one of these methods. Once the date range is selected, the Gantt View will adjust to the date range. (The Date with the black outline is the current day)
- Select a week by clicking the arrow to the left of the week.
- Click on a single day to select that day.
- Click the first date and then CTRL-click another date. This will select the entire range.
